Day 28- Group of Monsters

Description

Sorry for the poor image quality. My camera did not like the fact that two of the monsters were so vastly different in color and threw a fit taking the pic. I'll take a better one in the day light.

In the beginning of this world of monsters, a being of cosmic creation brought forth a great stone. From this stone, it sculpted the planet and its moon. It was not the first or last world that this being would make, but it was one of the few that would posses life. It let fall its own blood on the newborn world, from which other deities and beings of great power would spring. The three great deities of natural force would be the first and most important. First, there was Entropy, who raged forth from the burning center of the world. She was a furious entity, driven by chaotic emotion and fire. Next came Gravity. She was strong, level headed, and orderly. Her power bound the world together whilst Entropy created the energy that surged across it's surface and beneath its crust. Together they gave the world a more definite shape. Gravity created the forces that affected everything on or near the world and set it in orbit around a nearby star. Much to Gravity's pleasure, it assumed a consistent cycle of rotation on its axis whilst orbiting the star.  Ever loving of chaos, Entropy set the plates of the earth in motion, so that the surface would never truly stay the same shape. Her passing created the winds that gnawed evermore at the surface of the world. Bored of watching her counterpart's work, Gravity set about manipulating the moons. She decided that just one moon would suffice and, using her power, compacted the other four into vastly smaller forms and set them into orbit about herself. The primary moon was set into orbit about the world for later modifications and Gravity returned to the planet.
The surface was incredibly hot and the empty space around it was intensely cold. It was at this time that the third deity emerged.
She was smaller, but not lesser than the other two. She was Life, and she held the power to give the new world a purpose. She was a being of curiosity and creation. With a sweep of her hand, Life brought forth water. It washed over the world, covering a great deal of it. Entropy's winds and shifting tectonics made this new ocean a temperamental and unpredictable force. Gravity, favoring order, gave the moon a predictable sway over the oceans, creating the tides. The combination of Life's breath, Entropy's heat, and Gravity's pull created the atmosphere. As the first storm rained down upon the world, the deities sat back to admire their work.
Even amidst her fellow deities, Life was lonely. In her heart she knew that their purpose had not ended, especially hers. WIth her breath, she brought the earth to life, creating plants, fungus and algae. It was a beautiful spectacle, but it needed more. She created animals to live on the land and sea. All seemed well for a time.         Life soon realized that the living things upon the world would come to crowd it. She feared this day and turned to the other two for help. It was then that the three of them created death. It became an eternal part of the world. Gravity gave all mortals a set time to live, depending on their species. Entropy made death spontaneous and indiscriminate, allowing even the mightiest of creatures to be wiped out by natural disaster. Most importantly, Life, gave death a purpose. Death became nourishment for the living things of the world.
The three used the blood of the creator to bring forth more beings of power. These beings filled various roles that the Three assigned to them. Together they created sentience among some of the living creatures. Great monsters were created to humble those sentient beings. Some of them created an afterlife for those who died whilst others created more monsters and forces of nature to help send them to that afterlife. Entropy, Gravity and Life were pleased with the world that they had given birth to. They dispersed and rested for a time. From time to time they would reconvene and set about making any necessary changes to their world, whether it be by creation or destruction.

From left to right is Entropy, Life, and Gravity.
